His binkie and his blanket.
Lately we have been working on weaning ourselves from the pacifier. And yes I say "WE" because it is also hard for me to not just give in to him having it when he is whiny or loud. Especially at obnoxious times.
For the last 2 weeks we have done very well at leaving the binkie in the crib. Sam actually thinks its a funny game to "hand it over" when I go in to get him out of his bed.
But how long do I allow him to even have it at night?

I am TOTALLY against him having it in public after the age of 2 but I don't know how I feel about him having one after that for night time and naps. I don't even want to think about that weaning process. I enjoy my sleep too much.

We sure he love him. I just hope that one day we can be binkie free without any loss of Zzz's!

I never thought Mason would give up his binky then one day (out of defiance for a nap) he said he didn't want it (he was a little over 2). I stuck with it and it was terrible for 2 weeks. We went to the store each morning and he got a $1 toy when slept with out a binky (haha, now that I think about it, the toys were the same plastic animals like the giraffes you got for him!). That seemed to help, and he would just bring those toys to bed instead.
Good luck, I know how you feel, and I am going to have to do with Lily too, eek!
Story loves her binky and blanket! Some thing, I give her a binky at night, but not sure how long for. It seems too risky to take it away now. :)
i am in the same boat with crew. he loves his blankie and binkie. my first two i took it away at 18 months and with my last two... well i am not so strict. it is only allowed in bed, and i have thought of taking it away recently but then i don't.
anyway.. i need to hear more about your extensions. i am so intrigued. i have no idea how you do it or what you need to do.
are you on fb?
Heck yeah, that'd be so fun! What city does she live in? We are in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. We are about 40 minutes from Tampa. Let me know the day you are able to go to the beach. I am at my grandma's during the week but we'll try to make it work!
Malcolm was 3 when he gave them up, remember? And he's turned out juuuuuuuussst fiiiiine. ;)
i hate to admit it, but jax still has a binky. He turns 3 in 4 days. I know I need to take it away, but my theory is He'll only take it to Kindergarden once :) He only has it in his bed though.
