Our day so far

Sam is still asleep after today's adventure, so I thought I would post about it now.

We got to play with goats! For those of you that know me, know that I am a huge fan of farm animals, especially goats. I was so excited when Alycia called me this morning to see if I wanted to go to the farm and play around. I jumped in the shower, changed Sam and we were out the door within minutes.

There were tons of goats, rabbits, horses, mini horses, baby cows, pigs, ducks and chickens. I was in heaven. Alycia and her boys had a lot of fun too. Preston spent most of his time watching the ducks and petting the cow while baby Carter enjoyed an afternoon nap in the bjorn.
Sam was awake and alert the whole time, and even started to laugh at a few of the animals.

Thank you Alycia for inviting me! Now I know where I will be spending many of my summer days. Don't mind me if I smell like manure from now on :)

Fathers Day

This weekend Sam and I took Matt out for dinner and a baseball game for Fathers Day. I gave Matt the option to chose where he wanted to eat, assuming he would chose Blue C Sushi, but he wanted Dick's.Matt doesn't get to eat here too often because its in the city and because I am not the biggest fan, so he was super excited to dine on his "super deluxe with fries and a milkshake."
Then we headed out to the Mariners game where Sam experienced his first sporting event. We had a blast and luckily the Mariners played a great game and swept the Diamondbacks. I bought the best available seats, and I am so thankful that I did. They were awesome. Can I just say that I think that baseball fields are one of the most beautiful sights? I love Safeco Field. Here is Sam cheering for his home team with his very own baseball cap. He really did have a good time. The people around us were so thankful that he is good baby :)

Happy FIRST Fathers Day Matty! I hope it was a good one.

Point Defiance

Matt took the day off of work today so that we could join our friends the Andersons at the Zoo. We had a great time, and the weather was perfect.Sam enjoyed the aquariums the most. The rest of the trip he was either asleep or staring at the sky. We know when he gets older this will be one of his favorite places. After all, Matt and I have visited countless zoo's over the 4 years we have been together. We actually took one of our first dates to Point Defiance, and took this picture:We laugh about it because neither of us can explain the face or pose that we are making. I think it has to do with the sharks teeth...but I'm not really sure. We didn't miss out on another opportunity to make fools of ourselves this time either:Say what you want to say. We have fun :)

My favorite things were of course the owls. This Barn Owl was right up next to the glass, and I swear he eyed my gold owl necklace.

A normal week

I feel like last week was the first "real" week that we have had since having a baby. I think things are finally settling down and becoming normal. Sam and I visited family and friends, and got a little shopping done. We got a few things done around the house, and mastered nursing which is something we have been working on. I have been pumping and bottle feeding since his birth which is anything but ideal.

I got to go back to work with Courtney on Saturday, and Sam and Matt met us for lunch with Courtney's parents. Everyone had a great time holding the baby, and are excited to watch him grow.
Here are a few photos from this week. Enjoy!
Sam is using his Bumbo seat! He thinks its pretty funny until his neck gets tired and he starts to slump.
It has been in the 80's this whole month, so Sam has rarely worn anything but a diaper. He gets hot so easily. We tried cooling off in our friends kiddie pool, but Sam was not having it.
The dogs are loving their little brother. They are first on scene when Sam starts to cry, and Brimley will lay next to him any chance he gets. Sam has even smiled at them when they come into his view.
I took this picture of Courtney and Sam with her iphone. Sam is going to love his Aunt Courtney. She is already talking about the signs that she wants him to learn. My boys. I am such a lucky girl. Although, I wish I got to do more of this...
Another friend was born! Carter arrived last Sunday and we are so excited to watch these boys play together. They will be good pals for sure.
Isn't he cute?! Its hard to believe that Sam was smaller than this when he was born.
Im sure there will be more fun to come this week!

Samuel's Blessing

We were able to have Sam blessed this last Sunday, and it was a wonderful day for our family. My Grandpa Bailey was able to make it up to Washington from Mesa and all of our immediate family was there as well.A big thank you to all of our wonderful friends that were also present during this important day.

We are so very thankful for the priesthood that Matthew holds, and for this gospel that has been restored to the earth and for the opportunity we have to be an eternal family.
I can not imagine a life without this knowledge. Sam is such a blessing, and I am so thankful to know of his importance. While listening to an EFY song this week, the line "What will he do through me?" really caught my attention. I started to wonder what Sam will accomplish as the hands of the Lord. How many people will he bring to the truth through serving a mission? What will he become in this life? I have such faith that he will be a choice son of God, and make both Matt and I very proud to be his parents. Because of all we have gone through to get Sam to this earth, and all that he has fought through to stay here, I know that he is an important part of Heavenly Fathers plan. I cant wait to see what he will do during his life.

Matt's blessing to Samuel was so sweet and only solidified my beliefs that Sam is very special. It was very emotional for all of us since we have been praying for Sam for a long time, and it was great to finally witness this day.

After a wonderful Sacrament Meeting, we all headed home for some lunch and pictures. We all had a great time being together in Samuel's behalf.

Smiles!

I finally caught some cute smiles with my camera and if you look really close, you can see that adorable dimple that we love so much.

He's happy to be 6 weeks old!
