a little gripe

I am using this post today to whine and vent a little. Once its down in words, I will move on and stop feeling sorry for myself.

Tuesday:
Sam gets vaccinated
Upset and fussy all night long. (awake every hour)

Wednesday:
Sam is sick and in pain from his vaccines. He is crying all day, with no real naps.
Barely falls asleep when the FedEx man wakes him up with the door bell.
Brimley vomits on the carpet. (most puke I have ever seen in my life)
Brimley comes into the house with diarrhea. Needs bath. (I haven't even showered myself yet.)
Sam is upset and fussy all night long. (awake every 1/2 hour)

Thursday:
Not as fussy, and takes a 2 hour nap at Noon.
Sam sleeps again at 6pm, but only for an hour.
Matt gets sick and wakes me up with his loud puking.
A loud crash downstairs forces Matt to search the house, shotgun in hand.
Adrenaline adds to my frustration.
Sam decides not to sleep until 4am!!
We watch "Funny Farm" together.
Continues to be fussy all night, waking up every hour from 4-8am.

Friday:
Sam is awake early, but happy. I actually get some things done.
He takes a 30 minute nap so I can shower.
Princess vomits roast beef outside the door, I step in it.
I put Sam in his Bumbo chair while I clean. Sam poops.
He poops 3 days worth of poop. Needs bath.
I need another shower.
Laundry is added to the to do list.

So, here I am. Blogging about my week while Sam sleeps off that incredible BM. I'm sure it will be comedy to me soon, but I think Ill have to catch up on some Zzz's before I laugh this one off.

...and scene.

Multi Tasking

In the last week and a half, Samuel has decided that sleep is optional. His usual schedule for the month of October has been to wake up at 9am, take a 10 minute nap at noon, then a 20 minute nap at 3 and another 20 minute nap at 6. Then he falls back to sleep around 11pm, and continues to wake up every 3 hours to eat, or get re-swaddled. The next morning at 9 it starts all over again.

We are keeping Tylenol and Orajel in business and hoping that this new routine is just a result of teething. We can't complain too much since Sam is still pretty happy, and has become a very cuddly little man. We are enjoying all the awake time with him, but boy has it affected my housework and free time!

I am now the multi-tasking guru. From one-armed meals to nursing while blogging (yes, this is all typed one handed) I am constantly with only one free arm. My baby bjorn has become a part of my wardrobe as you can see in the picture below. This is me at a photo shoot. I know these aren't meant to be worn on the back so Jill, feel free to
leave me a comment regarding the awesome baby-back pack thingy you have for Holden. I will invest.

Fun in the tub

Sam is not the biggest advocate of bath time, but occasionally he has a good time in the water. I managed to snap a few shots of him enjoying himself.

Salmon Days

This weekend we got to go watch my Dad play on the KZOK stage at the Issaquah Salmon days festival. Although we didnt get to walk around the street fair, we had a great time listening to the music. My dad played with Allen White from the band "YES" and Mungo Jerry along with a few other popular musicians. After the show Matt, Sam and I headed to the hatchery to watch the giant salmon attemt the fish ladder. There were so many at the river, and I couldnt believe how big they were. Sam had a good time watching them jump.
