"Martin"

I wouldnt say that I have a boring job, and there is always something to do around the office. But, occasionally during my down time, I stare out my office window. Most people in my position would watch the Golfers at Willows, or adore the view of the Mountain, but I watch "Martin" the spider catch and eat helpless meals.
(I love how my reflection shows in this picture. I think its rad!)He is my entertainment, and it is very amusing for me to watch him build and repair his huge web while I input numbers into boring spreadsheets. Call me crazy, but for some odd reason, it gets me through the day!
Disclaimer-A nerd at my office just informed me that most web building spiders this size are female. So, "Martin" may be a "Martina". I apologize to all you arachnid lovers for the misconception.

Welcome To Earth

Carter W. Allred was born on Sunday, and Matt and I got to go meet him last night. He is such a sweet boy, and we are very excited for Casey and Rosa. Congrats you guys! He'll be fighting in the UFC for sure!"Rocky" has the longest toes, and the tiniest hands. I couldnt get enough of him!Matt thinks he looks a lot like Casey's dad, and I think he looks like a boy version of Monica. And here she is, tired out from all the action. Its hard being a big sister!

Lunar Eclipse, Solar View

Last night we were able to see the Lunar Eclipse. It was realy neat, and I am surprised that my camera actually got a descent picture of it.
Then this morning, it was so foggy, you could look directly at the sun! Pretty cool stuff!

Babies and Butterflies

Please welcome, Matt's new baby brother "Murphy"! The Aprecio's bought him to add to their Brussles Griffon collection, and we are all hoping that he will breed with Daphne (the blury one) this summer. He is such a tiny guy, and a really pretty dark brown. He is a little timid still, but loves to be held.
Also, a late Valentines gift came while we were playing with the new puppy, and I love it! Matt bought me a beautiful butterfly from Australia! I love bugs, and this specific species is so awesome. I wish that you could see how it looks in the light. I love you Matty!

He's getting cuter!

Its not the best picture, but the breeder will send me more when he is a little more "alive". Right now all he does is eat and sleep, but he took his first steps last week. Am I obsessed or what?!
Matt and I would love to hear name ideas. We want one thats Australian since he is an Aussie, and we have a "Brisbane" at home. My parents dogs names are "Boomerang" and "Bandicoot" and my brothers dog is "Dundee."
Let us know what you think!

My Valentine

This post goes out to Matty. He is the most wonderful husband, and I couldnt ask for more. Here are a few things that I love about him.He is so amazing. Everything he does is so cool to me, and all of the knowledge that he has is so humbling. He is not only book smart, but he knows so much about the gospel and about the little things in life, that I cant help but learn something new from him everyday.Matthew is The Man! He is so strong and so brave. He is willing to do anything that comes his way, and isnt affraid to try new things. He works hard at staying healthy and in shape, and at keeping me happy. (which isnt always easy!) He is always the first to set aside time for others which makes him a wonderful role model.
He is so attractive! Not only does he dress nice, but he is always clean shaven and he always smells so good. He has a good fashion sense, and puts me to shame in the shoe department. He is always in the best of moods. First thing in the morning he is sweet and happy and all through the day he is positive and laid back. There is never a time where he is hard to be around. Matt is my best friend. He is so easy to love and care about, and that is hard to come by. I have spent EVERY DAY with him for the past 2 1/2 years, and I am not even close to being tired of him. He knows me so well, and he still sticks by my side. Matty always gives the most heartfelt gifts and does the sweetest things be it making me a wonderful dinner or taking me out to Broadway musicals.
He has done so much for me, and last night was no exception!
Matt got home early to make me a dinner of Felet Mignon, spinach salad (complete with hand made croutons) peppers and rice. It was so good, like always. Then we watched some UFC DVD's that I got him for Valentines day, and then ate my first shot at making "Better than Sex Cake". I guess you can say I was a virgin. Ha!
"Better than Sex Cake" is a hard food to compliment your wife on. Do you say, "Mmm. Sure is good." meaning it IS better than sex, which only offends the competition of the cake? Or do you say, "Its good, but not better than sex" and show disrespect for the baked goods?
Anyway, it was tasty, and luckily there is a lot left over for Matt to enjoy when I have a headache :)
Happy Valentines day to everyone!

I once was LOST...

...AND NOW I'M LOST AGAIN!Matt and I rented the first 2 seasons of LOST last year and watched them without interuption. Seriously, we may have lost some friends due to our 2 week absence. However we made new friends named Kate, Jack and Sawyer!
Anyway, I overheard a while ago that you can watch all of the old episodes on abc.com. So I "accidentally" watched a season 3 episode on the internet AND NOW IM HOOKED AGAIN! I cant stop, its seriously an addiction. I am hoping to catch up to the live shows so that I can watch them while I am at the gym on Thursday nights. Last night, Matt came into the computer room, reminded me to blink, and got sucked into the drama himself! When the episode was over he said "I freakin' hate this show!" Offended, I asked why. He replied "Because its so good!"

Enough said.
See you when we're off the island!

A fun night out

After much advertising, Matt and I were able to show some friends and family just how wonderful Lombardi's really is. We met up with Sarah and Eric, Chris and Tiffany, Shauna and Garrett and Matt's parents, Ben and Jan for some amazing Italian food.
Everything we ordered was wonderful, and even though conversations were about "wangs" (supposedly that is what the fringes are called on Jan's jacket-Im sure you can imagine how much fun the boys had with that one) and other immature subjects, we had a LOT of fun.

You are what you Eat!

I found this on the web while searching for healthy food tips. I thought it was very interesting. You know that from now on Ill be feeding Matt some figs, and eating tons of olives and avocados myself!! :)
A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye...and YES science now shows that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes. A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart is red and has four chambers. All of the research shows tomatoes are indeed pure heart and blood food.Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows that grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds are on the nut just like the neo-cortex. We now know that walnuts help develop over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.
Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.
Celery, Bok Choy (that ones for you Mom!), Rhubarb and more, look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
Eggplant, Avocadoes and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats 1 avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? .. It takes exactly 9 months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemica l cons tituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).
Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the motility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm well to overcome male sterility.
Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.
Olives assist the health and function of the ovariesGrapefruits, Oranges , and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts. Onions look like body cells. Today's research shows that onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes
