Sleep and Sunsets

Matt and I finally had a pretty normal night. We had a breakfast dinner together at home, (Matt had been craving pancakes) and watched a little TV before I had to head out to rehearsal while he stayed home and changed my brakes (they split on the way to the ER). The sunset was really beautiful last night, and it had just finished raining so everything was wet and shiny. This is the view from our slider.Matt didnt seem too uncomfortable or drugged yesterday even though he told me this morning he didnt sleep very well. He has an appointment with his General Prac. on Friday just to talk about what he can do until he gets in with a specialist. The Dr. that we were referred to can not get Matt in until October 12th. So, we are just dealing with things to the best that we can until then. I hope that this month goes by fast so that Matt will not have to be in pain for too much longer and we so that can have a good nights rest once again!

oh good grief! Are there no other specialists around?! At least he's not on a liquid diet...that would be one long time to drink fluids and have no pancakes. :( Keep us posted. Beautiful picture!!

Yeah, hes not on a luquid diet completely. However, he can only have 10grms of fiber a day! Its so hard to find food with that little of fiber! He is supposed to drink/eat lots of liquids, but he has to eat with his pills, so its close to impossible to find things that work!

Holly, I would contact the office of the specialist and find out who his/her colleagues are. Tell the receptionist that Matt is just miserable and can't wait til the 12th and ask who from the group can see him before the 12th. Don't back down. It's ridiculous that people have to wait for care, and a month is unreasonable. Your insurance most likely will cover anyone in that group. Good Luck!
I'm glad to hear you had a better night (and hopefully more to come). Nice picture off of your balcony.

Oh, I didn't mean to sound so bossy in that last post, but being a nurse and having to deal with this industry, it just aggravates me to death to hear that people are waiting for unreasonable periods of time to see a physician. Also, if you can't get an appt with someone else in the practice, you may want to contact the Dr at the ER again, and have him recommend another practice--just a suggestion. Hope Matt's feeling better!

I am so sorry to hear about Matt. That would be hard. Let him know we're thinking about him.
