Sam.

Oh, how we love him.

Those dark eyes, his crazy hair and that perfect dimple.

Samuel will be 21 months this week.

He has 11 teeth, 3 of which came in just last week.

His favorite things right now are climbing, running, wrestling, bubbles, stickers, dogs, baseballs, his tricycle, movies, (Toy Story or "Woody!" as he calls it, Nemo, Monsters Inc and Up) reading books, and of course, giraffes.

Sam has finally started to talk a little and can say Nemo, ice, please, more, daddy, mommy, Bub (grandpa), doggy, kitty, Woody, up, thank you, no, wheredit-go?, hi, and bye bye.

When he is naughty and getting into trouble he "shooshes" us with his finger at his lips when we scold him. Its pretty hard not to laugh.

He is the perfect little buddy. He loves to hold my hand when we go on walks or to the store and he is the greatest cuddler. Matt and I get hugs and kisses from him all day.

I take a lot of pride in being Sam's mom. He is everything we could have possibly wished for in a little boy. We like to joke that he used up all of the good genes. There may not be any left if we ever have another baby. :)

Sam is calm, handsome and athletic just like his daddy and a happy, silly show off just like his mommy!

Grease is the word.

Once upon a time there were 2 people that really liked each other so they started dating. The girl wanted to audition for a part in the Broadway musical Grease but the boy wanted to spend more time with the girl. So he said no and she cried. He realized he was mean and decided to supported her in her dream to be on stage.

He drove her to the Theater and when the director saw the couple she shouted to the boy "Yay! You are perfect!"

"No, I'm not auditioning, she is." He said pointing to the girl.
The director sulked. "Darn it. We are low on guys and you look just the part."
"That would fix everything!" Said the girl to the boy. "We wouldn't miss out on time together and I would get to fulfill my dream!"

The next day the boy (after a ton of pressure from the girl he liked) auditioned for a part in Grease.

4 days later the parts were cast and both the boy and the girl received main parts.

Its amazing what a boy will do for a girl, huh?!

Yup, Its us! "Sonny" and "Sandy" 5 years ago.

Last weekend Matty and I got to experience Grease all over again when we saw it live at the Paramount Theater. Thank you Ben and Jan for the tickets! What a perfect Christmas gift!

We had so much fun. It was so hard not to sing and dance along (even though the lady next to us did just that) but it was so much fun to reminisce about all the good times we had with the cast and production of Grease 5 years ago.

MATTY, don't you dare delete this post. :)

A little help, "peeeze?"

When Sam wants something, he rubs his belly (his attempt at sign language) and asks "Peeeze? Peeeze?"

Now I ask for your help. Its dire :) OK, not really. But I have been looking for a rug for our bedroom for months now and I just cant decide. I think I have it narrowed down though...

OPINIONS PEEEZE! I have imposed my favorite rugs into a shot of our room. Take a look and let me know what you think.

I want to add color but I also love simplicity. I don't want it to be too girly but I want a "romantic" feel. I love "edgy" but classic is great as well. Darn it. Am I being too quixotic?

We'll start with you basic white shag. Classic, simple and romantic. But also expensive and hard to clean...(obviously this is not an actual rug, but you get the idea.)

So, many of you know I have a "thing" for leopard print. LOVE IT. So I had to try this on for size. Its simple, sexy and the colors match perfectly. I just don't know if Matty will go for it.

This one is also a very good color match. I love the large print and the texture. I just don't think it has much of a statement to it.
r2
I love this floral rug. I love the colors and the feel. What do you think? Too bright?
r5
I put it last but its my FAVORITE so far. The colors are perfect for my vision and I love the "world traveler" feel. Do you see it? Or does it cry out something lame I am just not seeing....

Gettin' out

We finally managed to get out of the house a little bit while Matty was out of school for Christmas and New Year. It was so nice to be able to spend time together again. Gee I love my family!

Sam and I got together with a few friends to check out the Harry Potter Exhibit in Seattle only to find out that the tickets were sold out. So we played in the Children's Museum instead and Sam had a great time.

In the construction zone.

Cooking dinner for some girls. They played together for a while. They would say "Hamburger, please!" and he would hand them something out of the pot with a huge smile.

Slides. Sam loves slides. He goes "Ahhhh" all the way down.

I'm calling it now: Sam will be a drummer in a band one day.

You know you're a photographer when your child....

The boys (Sam, Chase and Eli) spent a lot of time playing in this car.

We also got to head down to Tacoma to check out the Zoo lights. Although they were really pretty, and Sam seemed to like them, we don't think it was worth the drive. It was SOO cold that night and none of the animals were visible.
We liked this tree a lot. So pretty.  Check out our red noses! Oh, and there's Tyler hijacking our family picture.

Cool, right?

Meh boys. So handsome!

We did get to see some of the fish since they don't have a bed time. We should get Sam an aquarium, he loves fish.

The entrance is really neat.

So we had a pretty good winter break. Family time is so much more exciting now that we don't get to have it as often with Matt and I being so busy with work and school. I have loved the little moments of watching movies in bed, sipping hot coco on the couch and playing out front in the snow.

I want to ride my bicycle

"I want to ride my bike.
Bicycle. Bicycle."

Is that song stuck in your head now? Good, it should be. Queen rocks.

How cute is Sammy with his new tricycle? I cant get enough of him.
