Halloween - 2012

This week was packed full of fun and candy. Two things we three enjoy :)

Sam had a high fever all weekend so we stayed inside, carved and painted our pumpkins and watched the classic family halloween classics. Hocus Pocus is my personal favorite.

On Tuesday we joined Sam's preschool in a "Harvest Party" where we played games, ate yummy snacks, visited our friends and did art projects.

 I loved watching Sam interact with his friends and teachers. He's becoming such a big boy!

Sam loves his teacher and she is always coming up with fun games for the little ones. 

I was put in charge of the art project and thanks to Pinterest, I was able to come up with these cute handprint spiders. They were a big hit!

Halloween night we had some friends and family over for chicken chowder and trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. 

 We LOVE where we live. The streets were packed full of kids and families. And no rain or cold this year!!!

 Sam had a blast going door to door and made sure to stay and chat a little with the home owners. He's my little social butterfly ;)

Hulk

Sam knew months ago that he wanted to be The Hulk for Halloween. 

Gone are the days when I get to pick something cute or creative for him to dress up as.

But, Im happy when he's happy and this kid is ECSTATIC about being green. :)

Trick or Treating

What a fun night! Once our tummies were full of warm chicken chowder, we got into costume and started the festivities.

Daddy helped Sam out at each door. He had a fun time yelling the magic words.

We had a blast with the Cox family and my parents who came dressed up as well. Dad took care of the door duties so that we could walk around the neighborhood as a family.

We are already excited (and planning costumes) for next year!

Punkin Pickin'

We finally made it to the pumpkin patch as a family today. It was a perfect day to be out! The weather was nice and sunny and the Snohomish Valley is so pretty this time of year.


Sammy loved riding in the wagon.When we told Sam to go pick out a pumpkin, he got out, walked a little ways and then came back with this little freckled one. It was like he knew all along what he wanted. It was so cute :)He insisted that he carry it the rest of the way, including the drive home.We had a good time. I cant wait to carve our pumpkins with Sam.

Our Halloween Night

First off, is there a better holiday than Halloween? I mean, you get candy for free, get to dress up how ever you want and scaring the living guts out of people is totally acceptable behavior. These are things I wish could happen every single day of the year.

Oh, and do I need to mention that its even better now that I have a little goblin to go around and collect my candy for me? #1 reason to have babies. Seriously.

Needless to say, we had a great Halloween. How cute was Sam as Charlie Chaplin? I loved it. I felt obligated to out-do his last year rendition of Harry Potter. The pressure came from everyone and their Mom asking me what he was going to be this year. I knew I had to make it good, and that's what I came up with. Little did I know that without his bowler hat, which is hard to keep on an 18 month old, he would look almost identical to a man named Adolf Hitler. Oops.

So, we borrowed a "Cowardly Lion" costume from some friends and walked through our neighborhood without offending any Jews or gypsies. It was fun.

We had a ton of people over for some chili, pumpkin pie and trick-or-treating. The weather was perfect, and the neighborhood was full of kids. I loved every minute of it.

Sam didn't really catch on, but seemed to enjoy himself anyway.

Catching up

Sheesh! I am one busy lady.

I'm a mommy, wife, interpreter, photographer and the activity chair for our church. Its taking a lot out of me. Its a miracle that I am even able to blog this without having a brain hemorrhage. STRESS.

But, we're having fun in the Aprecio home. Matt is staying extra busy with work, school and jiu-jitsu while Sammy and I have had some fun day trips of our own.

We take lots of walks to the pond behind our house. Its an easy way to get outside and lose some energy (not that I have any.) Sam loves it in the forest where there are lots of bugs, sticks and rocks. Matt found us back there the other day and took some pictures of us two. We are rarely in pics together so I am very thankful for these.Oh yeah, I have dark hair now. Not sure how I feel about it, but its cheaper than getting highlights every 2 months and I like cheap.

Sam is the coolest boy. He is learning how to talk, share and climb. Every day is something new with this kid and we never get bored.Sam's cousin Alex turned 1 last week and we attended his party. Sam was very supportive of him eating his birthday cake.We loved seeing Matt's uncle and aunt and cousins that were visiting from Hawaii and LA and I'm pretty sure Sam loved all the attention he got from them as well. I guess we'll have to go visit them soon :)

We also took a quick trip to the pumpkin patch and Sam loved playing in the fields. We met up with the Loftus's and the Richey's and Sam was thrilled when he saw his girlfriend Makiah get out of the car. They are so in love!We didn't get to go with Matt, nor did we get to spend a lot of time there so we are hoping to go again before the holiday.

On Tuesday I got to photograph my friend Shannon's labor and delivery. It was amazing. Baby Knox is so cute, and I am so thankful that he came into this world a little early. So is his mom. This weekend I had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of one of my best friends from High School, Nathan Bosseler. It was so great to be a part of the big day and it was fun to catch up with a few friends from school. I would like to add that we really haven't changed too much :)Well, that about does it for the last week or so. This week will be full of photo sessions (including one of our own!) and lots of chores and preparation for another busy weekend!
