March so far

March and I have a love hate relationship. 

This year was no exception. 

The last few weeks I was fighting a horrible upper respiratory infection. It got bad. I ended up in the ER (first time for me!) after I coughed so long and hard that I passed out. 

After tests and meds the Doc instructed me to take a few days off and stay in bed. 

I kind of loved it. So did Hippo. 

 Sam and I have spent a lot of time together. He has put up with a lot of errand running and busy days. He's so patient with his crazy mom. 

 Matty's office has a bowling alley in the basement. We met up with my brother Cory and his girlfriend Alex and took advantage of the free activity. 

I lasted one game before I got frustrated and tired. Good thing I didn't pay a dime!

 We did see some sun this month!

On Saturday we met up with my parents at the Zoo. There is a not a more enjoyable place for us :) 

 Last week marked the 1 year anniversary of Jan's death. We got together for a nice dinner in her memory and then had dessert with our friends Brett and Sheena.

 I got a job shooting pics for a dress shirt company and used my hubby as a model. The picture will be in Skymall magazine!

Oh, and he turned 33 this month. 

 Day's with Court were seldom this month since I was so sick, but I did have a lovely night with her this week. The sunset was incredible. 

Sam is signing so much these days. It's so fun for me to see him with Courtney, and she loves him too! 

There are plenty more days in March, but hopefully they will only bring good times!

Peter and Linda visit us

Matt's Uncle Peter and Aunt Linda came up from Kona to see baby Audrey and to see the family. Saturday morning they took Courtney and I out to breakfast and then we met up with everyone at the zoo.

Sam was a little sleepy from having to wake up so early so Court let him relax with her on the chair.

This was our conversation at the Komodo Dragon exhibit:
Me: (Talking to another adult) "It's terrifying to me that these animals bite their prey and then follow them until they die from infection. How morbid."
Sam: (Overhearing)"No bite, wizard! NO BITE!"

This is their third Aprecio grand baby!

On Tuesday Peter and Linda came by our house to play with Sam and visit some more.



I talked them in to getting a few pictures taken :)

We love these two and already miss them. Thank you Peter and Linda for everything you do for us.

Ladies Night

Last Friday (yes, I am a little behind in blogging) I met up with Courtney and Kelly while they vacationed the weekend away at Tulalip Casino and Hotel.

We started the night off with an AMAZING dinner at Tulalip Bay and then headed into the casino for some good ol' gamblin'.

By the way, don't bring your camera into the casino. I guess its bad. I got in trouble twice (I'm a rebel) by the same guy. Silly rules.

All 3 of us managed to come out ahead! Kelly and Court won close to $100+ each and I came out with a whopping $12. I was actually quite content with that POSITIVE number.

When we decided it was a good time to pull out, we headed up to the hotel room and changed into our bathing suits for the Spa Hot Tub.

It was so relaxing and fun, and as much as I love my boys, it was a GREAT girls night out!

Courtney's 30th Birthday

This year family and friends met up at Shanghai Garden for dinner and cake. It was a very fun event and we all had a great time telling stories and catching up.



























Happy birthday Courtney! You have come such a long way, and have become so independent and talented over the years. I cant wait to see what the next 30 years bring you!

5th Season

Special Olympics Bowling has started again. Courtney and I were very excited to see our "Lane Buddies" again after a short, but busy summer.

Courtney's best game on Saturday was a 99 and everyone is excited to see how much better she gets this year. Her record is 146 and we all believe she will bowl over that number very early in the season.

Although our lane couch Leela hasn't been seen yet this year, we were happy to see our friends Barb, Kathy, Lee, Briauna and Michelle.

Here's to another great year!

Courtney turns 29

Last night our family headed into Seattle to attend a surprise birthday party in honor of Courtney. We ate pizza, signed and chatted, and devoured the best cake I have ever tasted. Courtney and MorganCourtney and HeatherCourtney and JoyCourtney and Joan
Sam got passed around to just about everyone at the party and he loved every moment of the attention.
Kelsey and SamKen and SamKen, Courtney's dad, even got Sam to crawl to him on his hands and knees. It was his first time crawling!Courtney's condo has the most amazing view of the city, so of course we enjoyed looking out over Seattle during sunset, and after. It was a fun night!
