Jiu-Jitsu genes

Sam loves to wrestle with Daddy. So when he has someone his own size around, he takes full advantage of it. Poor Eli had no idea what was going on. When he does figure it out, he will have the size advantage for sure. Silly boys.

On the 5th...

...we attended our Ward's breakfast. Some how we managed to get up early enough to go and we were happy that we did when we tasted the food. Mmm.

I was in charge of the face painting. Mostly I did fireworks and rockets, but once the missionaries came up and asked for mustaches, all the boys wanted them as well. It was pretty funny.
Sam followed around "Biscuit", a very patriotic puppy who did a trick where he walked on his hind legs. Sam thought it funny until the dog punched him in the face. I got it all in pictures.
Poor kid. He lived though.
And that is all.

Happy 4th of July

We had a great time celebrating this year despite the rainy weather. We spent the holiday at Shannon and Tyler's house playing games and catching up with friends. Tyler rigs up an awesome display from the top of his boat house next to Lake Washington.

Most of the time was spent inside eating burgers and salads, but we played a super competitive game of "Cornhole" outside under the deck. It was a BLAST and since the grand prize was $$$ Matt and I got pretty serious about winning. However, we came in 3rd and then watched as my parents beat Kari and Gerod for the cash! Go Mom and Dad!When it finally got dark we all huddled together under blankets and sweatshirt hoods to watch Tyler's fireworks display. Because everything was so damp, Tyler had to keep re-lighting the fuse. But we were NOT disappointed. It was as amazing as the last 5 years we have attended. And Sam, who was only 2 months old last year, slept through 90% of both shows.

Happy Birthday America!

Toy Story 3

Laughed. Cried. Loved it.

This was Sam's first real experience in a movie theater and he did awesome. Watched all but 10 minutes of the movie. He's a natural movie go'er.
