Gray skies and black eyes

Last night Matt took me out to dinner at Lombardi's, and we walked around the Pier a little before dinner. Even though it was cloudy, it was a really pretty night and the weather is finally starting to warm up a little. After dinner we headed into Lynnwood for some Alderwood Mall shopping and while we were in Macy's, Matt noticed Rich Franklin coming up the escalator!! For those of you who don't know, Rich is one of Matt's favorite fighters in the UFC, and he was SO EXCITED to see him!! Matt froze on the spot, and I literally had to drag him over to Rich. Matt told Rich that he had joined "Tap-or-Snap" and Rich mentioned that he was here training in Kirkland (hence the black eye). I was a little hesitant to ask for a picture, but the "Ace" was such a nice guy he had no problem with the request. It was so awesome to be able to see one of our idols, and I am so happy that Matt got to meet him. That rarely happens in life! Congrats babe!
Needless to say, we didn't get much shopping done after that since Matt had to call his best friend Casey right away and tell him about the meeting. :)

Our perfect little puppy...

...has one little problem.
To put it lightly, he "recycles" his own waste. Yuck.

I found this at the pet store and it made me laugh. Its sick to think that this problem is common enough for a name ("coprophagia") and a product.

Princess has found a great hang out high enough that Brimley cant find her. She spends most of her days up there cuddled with the candle holder. Sorry kitty, he'll grow bored with you when you stop being a cat.
Side note- Matt makes the best Eggs Benedict. Kiss the cook!

In Depth

I figured that it was finally time to get personal.

I haven't wanted to get too detailed, but lets face it, I had no problem talking about Matt's colon last September, so my guts should be open to the public as well. Gross, I should have stated that differently.

Anyway, here is the scoop.

Matt and I have been trying for a baby for over a year now. It went by pretty quickly but at the same time it was very arduous and stressful tracking my temperature, playing with "old wives tales" and drinking Robitussin nightly. I have tried everything apart from Matt's "cure all" that he calls "Having sex every hour."

Last year they found what seemed to be "cancerous cells" on my cervix, so they did a biopsy that sent me into contractions for 24 hours. Fun. The Dr stated that the biopsy would give us an idea of why we were having trouble conceiving.

Wrong.

The Biopsy came back totally normal and they still want me to get one every year.

A couple of weeks ago I took my pathetic "body temperature" graph to my Dr. who told me that there was definitely something wrong with my hormones according to the chart.

Wrong.

The blood tests that they ran came back saying that I was a healthy girl. Not anemic. Not diabetic. And not hormonal.

So, I finally got an appointment with a Fertility Specialist here in Seattle, and I really hope that they find something wrong. I know it sounds weird that I would want there to be problems, but if there is something broken, then there is something they can fix! I am really tired of not having any idea what this lack of babies is about!! I think I am doing everything right?

Hopefully 3rd times a charm or I may have to succumb to Matt's suggestion and I'm not sure how well that would fit into my work schedule :)

Sick Day

I have the flu. I thank my father, who probably left his yucky germs on the microphone that we shared last weekend.

I didn't even try to go into work today since yesterday I barely made it through the 3 hours that I was there. Last night I ran a high fever and got so tired of the chills, that I drugged myself to sleep and woke up this morning knowing that I had to stay home for one more day.

However, there are a few good things about being home sick all day.

1. Catching up to the 4th season of LOST.

2. Tons of sleep and being pampered by my husband.

3. Lots of pictures of our playful animals.
By the time I usually get home to see the "kids" its close to dark, and I am ready for bed. So it was fun to spend a little time outside in the sun until my allergies started to add on to my flu symptoms.
Here are a few of my favorites.Brimley and Brisbane are seriously the best of friends. I was so worried that Briz would have a really hard time having another dog to compete with for our attention, but she gets along with him so well.

This picture may be the one to settle an argument between Matt and I. Matt swears that Brisbane is what he calls"Wall Eyed." He says "She can look at the wall and the floor at the same time!" However, I disagree with this, and I believe that the little blue mark that she has in her right eye creates the illusion that there is more of the "white" of her eye showing, than in her left. What do you think? Brimley loves dirt. He will pick up pieces of bark and run around with it in his mouth until he is called back inside. He has recently learned to sit, and we are so lucky that he is a quick learner."Good sit!" Aren't they such beautiful dogs! I love how distinct they both are. This one may not be the best picture, but its the funniest action shot I got. Brimley LOVES Princess, and Princess TOLERATES the new puppy. She will let him tackle her, and bite her ears but the second he tries to lick her, she gets so mad! Brim has a few scratches on his face from this, and her face in this picture is priceless! The rest of the time she hung out on the top of the fence, out of the reach of his tongue :)Sorry to be so "snap happy" but I love my furry children!
